Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family that included musicians. Her early years were spent listening to classical music, boleros from the past, and traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana loves tangos, operas and other dramatic shows. She started singing and studying songs with her mother then began more intense singing training at the age of 16 working with the famous Mexican Tenor Flavio Becerra. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. As a student and young professional, she was a part of various chamber groups as well as opera choruses throughout Guadalajara and Mexico City. When she moved in America, United States, she performed in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2002 she moved to Southern California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo at many private events. She has been involved with a number of local organizations, both as a teacher and performer, because of her enthusiasm of music and art. Ana has also been a former member of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes, through her sharing of Latin American traditional songs, that she can instill a passion, particularly for the young generation to keep this tradition alive.
