Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). In her early years she was enrolled in the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was aspired to become a professional actor since she was aged six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy which offers classes for part-time students. She had already performed in numerous Stagecoach or school shows by the time she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were selected as the three lead characters Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen appearance. The film set records for the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs as well as being the most-grossing feature of 2001. The critics were impressed by the movie and its performances. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British publication, has praised Emma for her performance. Emma's performance was recognized and was awarded five awards in the film.
